Ricardo Murillo Sandoval Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 74 [Menifee, CA]

1 Dead and 3 Injured in Rollover Crash near Menifee Road

MENIFEE, CA (November 12, 2018) – A man was killed early Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash near Menifee Road. The victim was later identified as 22-year-old Ricardo Murillo Sandoval, a resident of Hemet.

As per reports, the incident happened along Highway 74, at approximately 1:50 AM. Preliminary investigation showed that the victim was driving his pregnant wife to the hospital when their Lexus was struck by a Toyota truck. Due to the impact of the collision, both vehicles rolled over multiple times.

Sandoval was trapped in the wreckage for almost 30 minutes before he was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. A GoFundMe page was created to assist Sandoval’s family with funeral expenses. Click on the link to donate and to support the campaign.

Alyssa Hernandez, Sandoval’s wife, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she gave birth to their third child. Two other people were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries. Further updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately provided. Meanwhile, the driver and a passenger in the truck fled the scene on foot.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors.
