Ricardo Cuevas of Cactus Killed in FM 297 Traffic Accident [Sherman County, TX]

Sherman County, TX (September 2, 2023) – At about 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Ricardo Cuevas of Cactus died in an FM 297 traffic accident.

Officers said a 2018 Ford Escape was eastbound and exiting a curve on FM 297.

The Ford driver did not know that they were approaching a two-vehicle crash that happened moments earlier.

The accident report stated that due to being dark, the driver did not see the disabled vehicles on the road in time to stop. The Ford driver attempted to move between the two vehicles to avoid crashed into them.

At the same time, Ricardo Cuevas was in the roadway between the two vehicles.

The Ford driver did not see Cuevas until it was too late and hit him.

Unfortunately, Cuevas was declared dead at the scene.

In the meantime, the Texas Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating this collision.
