Rhett Wilbur Dies, Bradley Schaffer Arrested after Crash on East Sunrise Drive and North Swan Road in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (May 13, 2022) – Friday morning, 52-year-old Rhett Wilbur died in a crash on East Sunrise Drive and North Swan Road.
Subsequently, police arrested 35-year-old Bradley Schaffer for manslaughter, leaving the scene of a collision, and driving under the influence.
The fatal crash happened at around 6:30 a.m. on May 13.
PCSD said the car hit the pedestrian leading to fatal injuries. Wilbur died at the crash scene.
The vehicle involved immediately fled the scene.
Meanwhile, police received a report of a “suspicious vehicle that had been abandoned in the area.”
The car then was found to have collision-related damage.
Investigators located and identified 35-year-old Bradley Schaffer. He was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center.
