Driver Arrested after Oakland Auto Accident near 14th Street and Broadway
OAKLAND, CA (May 2, 2021) – Saturday night, KPIC reporter Da Lin has been involved in a crash near 14th Street and Broadway.
According to Oakland police, a driver struck several vehicles at about 8:30 p.m. The vehicle also hit a news van before stopping after rear-ending a parked SUV.
The driver tried to escape but the officers managed to arrest the suspect. They found the driver a block away from the crash scene near 14th Street and Broadway.
At this time, the police do not suspect that the crash was related to the protests going on nearby.
Meanwhile, KPIX 5 reporter Da Lin that he was inside the ven when the car came at a high rate of speed. Then, it crashed into the front end of his parked vehicle.
Moreover, the KPIX 5 cameraman suffered no injuries while Lin went to the hospital for evaluation. The authorities said that he didn’t suffer serious injuries.
It is important to always drive within the posted speed limit. Also, slow down if you see traffic stalling ahead to avoid hitting other vehicles.
