Police Investigate Crash on Interstate 40 in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, NM (September 12, 2024) – Around 7:15 AM, the Albuquerque Police Department, Fire Rescue, and other local law enforcement agencies responded to a crash on Interstate 40 Westbound at the University. 

APD’s Traffic X account reported on the crash earlier this morning.

A viewer stuck in traffic mentioned that one of the vehicles involved was an SUV, which they observed had sustained significant damage. 

Another driver passing the scene reported that the SUV was facing the opposite direction of traffic and noted that one of its doors appeared missing. 

Currently, the crash is affecting the right lane, with police and “Help Trucks” blocking the area.
