Several Injured in Possible DUI Wrong-Way Collision on I-405 at Talbot Road
RENTON, WA (February 20, 2018) – A wrong-way driver, possibly under the influence, crashed into a car on the 405 Freeway on Tuesday morning around 2:15 AM.
A suspected impaired woman, 33, was driving southbound on the northbound lanes of Interstate 405 at Talbot Road near the Renton S Curves, when she collided head-on with a car that was traveling northbound. The northbound car was occupied by a 48-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy.
The woman suffered major injuries and was transported to the Harborview Medical Center. The adult male and young boy sustain non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the Valley Medical Center for treatment, according to Trooper Chase Van Cleave of the Washington State Patrol.
Police officials believe that the female driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She remains in custody under suspicion of DUI. No other information has been released at this time regarding the condition and identities of the people involved.
