40-Year-Old Driver Dies after Rollover Crash near Michigan Street
SEATTLE, WA (December 30, 2018) – A Renton man was killed early Sunday morning following a solo-vehicle accident on Interstate 5. The identity of the 40-year-old victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened near Michigan Street, at about 5:00 AM. A Jeep Grand Cherokee was speeding in the southbound lanes near the South Albro Place exit when it lost control and rolled into the guardrail.
The driver of the Jeep suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify other possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to cooperate with investigators as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
