Renika Derry of Anderson Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 244 [Grimes County, TX]

Grimes County, TX (June 23, 2024) – 40-year-old Renika Derry of Anderson was killed following a two-vehicle crash on FM 244 Friday afternoon.

It was approximately 4:44 p.m. when the fatal crash happened north of Highway 90.

DPS officers said a 2017 Freightliner M2 truck was northbound at a right-hand curve swerved back to the left and crossed the center stripe .The vehicle struck the southbound Hyundai Palisade driven by Derry.

Derry was killed in the collision while Derry’s passenger was transported with suspected minor injuries.

The Freightliner driver was also transported with suspected minor injuries.
