Rene Alvarez-DeLeon Dies in Vehicle Crash on South McDowell Boulevard [Petaluma, CA]

Restaurant Delivery Driver Rene Alvarez-DeLeon Killed in Petaluma Car Crash

 
Petaluma, CA (September 25, 2020) – On Wednesday, 38-year-old Rene Alvarez-DeLeon died in a vehicle crash on South McDowell Boulevard.
 
The crash happened before 6:30 p.m. near Lakeville Highway.
 
Moreover, Alvarez-DeLeon’s car was moving west on South McDowell Boulevard. A truck struck his car while in the intersection. Police believe the truck run a red light.
 
Both vehicles stopped in a small grove of trees adjacent to the Petaluma Poultry parking lot on the northwest corner of the intersection.
 
Authorities pronounced Alvarez-DeLeon dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, authorities took the unidentified 34-year-old female truck driver to a hospital for non-fatal injuries.
 
Petaluma police and investigators with the District Attorney’s office are investigating the circumstances to identify if charges should be filed.
 
Furthermore, police investigate the crash to identify whether the driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
