Regina Avila Struck and Killed in Bermuda Dunes Pedestrian Accident
Bermuda Dunes, CA (January 8, 2021) – A crash killed Regina Avila on Washington Street and Hidden River Road on Thursday.
The fatal accident took place on January 7 on Washington Street and Hidden River Road, near Hovley.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and reported that the crash involved a 48-year-old pedestrian and a vehicle.
Later reports detail that at precisely 5:25 PM, an SUV fatally struck Palm Desert resident Ms. Avila.
Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene, said the spokesperson of Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
It is still unknown what events led up to the collision. However, the investigators believe that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
Due to the extent of the crash, officials had to close the road for traffic but before 10 p.m, roads reopened.
