2 People Injured in Phoenix Pedestrian Accident near 47th Avenue and Bell Road

 
PHOENIX, AZ (February 9, 2023) – Monday morning, authorities arrested Refugio Barraza Torres after a pedestrian crash near 47th Avenue and Bell Road.
 
The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. near 47th Avenue and Bell Road.
 
When the officers arrived, they found a truck that had struck several pedestrians. Also, they located a man and a woman with serious injuries.
 
Initial reports said that 49-year-old Refugio Barraza Torres intentionally struck a man and woman with his truck. After the crash, the truck driver fled the crash scene. However, officers later found him at a nearby home.
 
Then, they arrested Barraza Torres. Also, the investigators believed that he hit the pair on purpose.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear.
 
Moreover, authorities booked Torres into jail on multiple counts of aggravated assault. Also, the authorities haven’t determined the suspect’s connection to the two victims.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
