Refugio Aarreola and Emilio Tellez Injured in Car Accident near Broken Court
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 13, 2018) – Two people were injured in a suspected DUI car crash on the intersection of 7th Standard Road and Broken Court, on Tuesday morning.
The collision occurred just after 9:00 AM, just east of Enos Lane. 54-year-old Refugio Aarreola of Shafter was driving a pickup truck west on 7th Standard Road and stopped in a construction zone due to one-way traffic control. 23-year-old Emilio Tellez, did not see Aarreola and rear-ended him.
Reportedly, Tellez was in an intoxicated state at the time. He was treated for minor injuries before being arrested for felony at the scene and booked into the downtown jail. Aarreola sustained major injuries and was airlifted to the Kern Medical Center for treatment. There is no update on his current condition.
