Early Morning Crash on 10 Freeway in Redlands Ends in Fatality
REDLANDS, CA (February 16, 2019) – One person was killed following a traffic collision early Saturday morning in Redlands.
The fatal crash happened just before 2:00 a.m. on westbound 10 Freeway at Tennessee Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Nissan Sentra had crashed into a pole on the right shoulder, sending debris on the freeway. A semi truck and a green Toyota Camry then collided into crash debris, damaging their tires. The semi truck’s light was also busted from the crash.
The Nissan Sentra was completely wrecked due to severe impact.
Fire crews responded to the scene and extricated one party with severe injuries. Paramedics also arrived and provided life-saving measures.
Sadly, the patient did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene. Information on the victim’s identity was not immediately available.
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
