Recology Employee Hospitalized, Dustin Shaw Arrested in DUI Crash on Ludwig Avenue [Santa Rosa, CA]

Santa Rosa, CA (February 04, 2022) – On Wednesday, officers arrested 45-year-old Dustin Shaw of Sebastapol in a DUI crash on Ludwig Avenue injuring an employee of the waste hauling company Recology.

The accident took place minutes before 9:30 a.m. west of South Wright Road.

The truck driver was loading debris from the right shoulder of the road into the back of the truck. Reports said that the truck, a GMC, had overhead flashing warning lights and hazard lights on, as the driver was working.

Moreover, the Recology employee was walking on the right side of the truck when a westbound driver of a Toyota Tundra drifted to the right and rear-ended the GMC.

The impact of the crash pushed the truck into the Recology employee who sustained major injuries.

Immediately, the paramedics rushed the victim to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with non-fatal injuries.

Meanwhile, officers booked Shaw into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of DUI. He did not sustain injuries from the accident.
