Rebecca Goss Bley and Two Children Fatally Injured in Santa Barbara Fiery Accident
SANTA BARBARA, CA (October 28, 2019) – Officers identified Rebecca Vanessa Goss Bley as the woman killed in the crash on Friday, October 25.
The collision occurred at around 4:30 p.m. between Highway 154 bridge and Stage Coach Road.
Two of the three vehicles caught fire and caused a two-acre brush fire.
The 34-year-old woman and two children who died were in a Chevy Volt. A Chevy Camaro that crossed into oncoming traffic struck their car.
Their vehicle spun out and crashed into a GMC Yukon that was close behind. A father and teenage son occupied the Yukon and were not injured.
The driver of the Chevy Camaro, John Roderick Dungan, suffered life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital.
The names of the two children who died in the accident were not yet available.
DNA samples, for comparison, will be delivered to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. Authorities will use a Rapid DNA System to confirm the children’s identities.
The reason behind the incident is under investigation.
