Horrific Rear-End Crash on Duquesne Road Results in Injury [Dequesne, MO]

Dequesne, MO (September 20, 2024) Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, a two-vehicle rear-end crash on Duquesne Road and 7th Street triggered emergency responses from Jasper County E-911, Duenweg Fire, Duquesne Police, and METS ambulance.

Authorities revealed that a white Mustang rear-ended a brand-new KIA Telluride, with both vehicles heading west on 7th. The SUV, on a test drive with a sales representative and customers, was hit at highway speeds. It remains unclear who was driving the SUV at the time of the collision.

Duquesne Police have detained the Mustang’s driver as part of an ongoing DWI investigation.

One individual involved in the crash was transported to a Joplin hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Duenweg Fire Department. The scene was cleared in about an hour, with Metro Towing removing both vehicles and debris.

Authorities are investigating the rear-end crash on Duquesne Road and have not released further details at this time.
