FULLERTON, CA (December 13, 2019) – An 80-year-old man killed in a DUI crash Friday last week was identified by the Orange County coroner’s office as Raymond Tenold of Anaheim.
The crash happened around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Orangefair Lane.
Fullerton police said a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling southbound on Raymond Avenue at a high rate of speed. It then broadsided a 1964 Chevrolet Malibu SS, driven by Tenold, who was making a westbound turn onto Orangefair Lane.
The truck rolled over several times before it came to rest upside down in the southbound lanes of Raymond Avenue.
The Malibu was completely totaled. Paramedics pronounced Tenold dead at the scene by paramedics, police said.
The driver of the Dodge, a 25-year-old man, suffered moderate injuries and was hospitalized. Police later arrested him on suspicion of felony driving under the influence resulting in death.
Further investigation is underway.
