Raymundo Ortiz-Sanchez Arrested after Multi-Vehicle Crash near Highway 18
APPLE VALLEY, CA (September 21, 2019) – Several people suffered injuries in a DUI crash on Rancherias Road, Saturday evening.
According to the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, the incident happened at about 9:00 PM. A white Yukon allegedly ran the red light near Highway 18. There, it slammed into a Nissan Z stopped at the light.
The impact of the collision pushed the Nissan and caused it to hit a silver Toyota minivan. Then, the Yukon attempted to leave the scene, crashing head-on with a black Nissan Xterra.
The minivan driver, identified as Raylynn Dean, her wife, and their 11-year-old daughter suffered injuries and were transported to St. Mary Hospital. Emergency responders also rushed the driver of the Nissan sedan to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
Authorities arrested the Yukon driver, identified as 44-year-old Raymundo Ortiz-Sanchez, on suspicion of DUI causing injury. He is being held on a $100,000 bail, with his court date scheduled on September 24.
