UPS Driver Rayland Elzy Killed in Big Rig Accident on Highway 99
Tulare County, CA (February 07, 2021) – On Friday, a UPS driver named Rayland Elzy, 25, died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 99.
The fatal semi truck accident took place at about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection with Avenue 120.
A UPS truck and a tractor-trailer commercial truck were moving eastbound when suddenly, the tractor-trailer tried to pass the UPS truck.
It crashed into the side of the UPS truck on Highway 99.
As a result, the UPS driver, Elzy, was ejected from the vehicle and went underneath the tractor-trailer.
Officers said the UPS truck driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Police say the man resided in Visalia, California.
