Ray Timothy Oberholzer Arrested in Highway 101 DUI Collision [Santa Barbara, CA]

Passenger Seriously Injured in DUI Crash at Castillo Street

Santa Barbara, CA (September 10, 2022) On Friday morning, 25-year-old Ray Timothy Oberholzer was arrested after a DUI collision on Highway 101 that injured him and 2 others.

Santa Barbara police say that the serious injury traffic collision happened around 1:30 a.m. on the 101 southbound freeway off-ramp at Castillo Street.

Reports say that Oberholzer was driving a Ford sedan at high speed while exiting the highway. The crash happened as Oberholzer attempted to turn left onto northbound Castillo Street and collided into a large retaining wall.

Oberholzer and the front passenger sustained minor injuries, while the back seat passenger suffered critical injuries. Paramedics transported the back seat passenger to the hospital.

Authorities say that Oberholzer was impaired at the time of the collision. Police booked Ray Timothy Oberholzer into Santa Barbara County Jail for felony DUI causing injury.

Officials are investigating the incident and have not released further information at this time.
