Raul Osiel Luna Killed in Tragic Motorcycle Crash on FM 493

1 Dead in Weslaco Motorcycle Accident on FM 493 and Atlanta Avenue

WESLACO, TX (April 19, 2023) – Monday night, Raul Osiel Luna died in a tragic motorcycle crash on FM 493 and Atlanta Avenue.

According to reports, at about 7:00 p.m., a woman drove a black Ford F150 northbound on FM 493 and Atlanta Avenue. Then, a motorcyclist made a wide-right turn onto FM 493 northbound lane. Thus, it crashed head-on with the pickup.

The impact ejected the rider of the red 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster, 19-year-old Raul Osiel Luna. Then, the driver of the Ford hit a utility pole and overturned as she attempted to avoid hitting the motorcycle.

After the crash, responders took Luna to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup sustained non-life-threatening injuries and required hospitalization.

The Texas Department of Public Safety handles the crash investigation.
