Whittier, CA (November 16, 2023) – On Thursday, Raul Alfonso Carmona died in a crash on Marquardt Avenue and Imperial Highway.

Authorities in Whittier reported on Thursday that two cars struck and killed a pedestrian. 

The fatal crash occurred around 9:25 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Marquardt Avenue and Imperial Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). 

The victim succumbed to the injuries at the scene.

There is currently no information available on whether authorities have cited either driver involved in the incident. 

The CHP reported that the intersection was temporarily closed for the death investigation.
