Raquel Rodriguez Dies in Tragic 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 64 [Van Zandt County, TX]

Van Zandt County, TX (May 3, 2023) On Sunday afternoon, 57-year-old Raquel Rodriguez of Lancaster died in a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 64.

DPS says that the fatal crash happened at about 12:20 p.m. on the westbound shoulder of State Highway 64, about two miles outside Canton.

Reports say that 70-year-old Orlando Jaimes of Lancaster, tried to make an unsafe U-turn in front of a motorcycle driven by 32-year-old Kyle Randall of Royse City.

Officials say that Randall’s motorcycle crashed into the passenger of Jaimes’ car. Jaimes’ vehicle had 2 passengers, Rodriguez and 44-year-old Esperanza Rodriguez also from Lancaster.

Randall, Jaimes, and Esperanza Rodriguez sustained injuries and were transported to a Canton hospital. Meanwhile, Raquel Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the fatal crash.
