Rider and SUV Driver Dead in Head-On Crash on Highway 395 in Randsburg
RANDSBURG, CA (November 24, 2018) – Two people were killed and another one was injured following a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV Saturday night in Randsburg.
The collision happened around 6:36 p.m. on southbound Highway 395, just North of Hoffman Road.
According to the CHP, the rider of an off-road Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling southbound with a group of riders and veered into the northbound lane. The driver of a Suzuki Sidekick struck the motorcycle head-on.
The impact caused the Suzuki to overturn, trapping the driver underneath the vehicle. The motorcycle went down in the middle of the roadway.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the motorcycle rider and the Suzuki driver dead. The names are being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
Another person suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.
No additional information was provided at this time. The incident is still under investigation.
