51-Year-Old Barstow Man Fatally Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash near University Parkway
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (May 28, 2018) – A man was killed Monday morning after several vehicles and a motorcycle collided near the University Parkway exit. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department later identified the victim as 51-year-old Randall Hoffman, a resident of Barstow.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash took place around 4:53 AM on the Interstate 215, just south of University Parkway. It is currently unknown how many vehicles were involved in the collision.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Hoffman trapped underneath one of the vehicles involved in the accident. He was rushed to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead at 6:58 AM the same day. No other injuries have been reported at this time.
Affected areas were temporarily shut down as investigators gathered evidence and details about the incident. An investigation is being conducted by the CHP Barstow Office to determine the cause of the traffic collision. No additional information was immediately dislcosed.
