SUV Crashes into Tree on Highway 67 near Shady Bend Killing the Driver
RAMONA, CA (February 22, 2019) – An unidentified man was killed after crashing his car into a tree Friday morning on Highway 67.
The collision happened around 6:05 a.m., near Shady Bend. According to highway patrol, a Mitsubishi Montero was heading east in the area of Kay Dee Lane when it lost control on a slight curve. It then veered off the wet and icy roadway before consequently striking a tree.
The driver of the SUV was identified as a 43-year-old Spring Valley man. He was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has been withheld pending next of kin notification.
Intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the crash. CHP officers are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
