Ralph Paccione of Torrance Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision on Artesia Boulevard [Torrance, CA]

44-Year-Old Gardena Man Injured in Rear-End Collision on Artesia Boulevard

Torrance, CA (October 28, 2022) On Thursday, 78-year-old Ralph Paccione of Torrance died after a hit-and-run collision on Artesia Boulevard.

Police say that a white 2005 Ford truck rear-ended a a black 2000 Toyota truck in the 2700 block of Artesia Boulevard at around 7:35 a.m.

The white truck driver lost control and struck Paccione walking on the sidewalk. Afterward the Ford crashed into a residence and the driver fled on foot.

Officials pronounced Paccione dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old Gardena man driving the Toyota, suffered injuries due to the collision. Paramedics transported the driver to teh hospital.

Authorities are looking for the suspect driver, witnesses can call Torrance police at 310-328-3456.

TPD closed Artesia Boulevard between Atkinson Street and Van Ness Avenue during the investigation.
