62-Year-Old Inglewood Man Fatally Injured in Accident at 7th Street East

LANCASTER, CA (July 19, 2019) – Late Thursday evening, a man was killed and two passengers were hurt after a two-car crash on East Avenue I. The deceased victim was later identified by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office as 62-year-old Ralph Johnson of Inglewood.

According to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, the crash occurred around 10:30 PM at 7th Street East intersection. A 2007 Nissan Armada was heading westbound on E Avenue I approaching 7th Street E when a 2000 Ford Taurus turned eastbound from 7th and went directly into the path of the Nissan.

The driver of the Ford, Johnson, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. A male passenger in the rear of the same vehicle sustained significant injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while the front female passenger sustained moderate injuries and was also transported to a hospital.

The driver of the Armada only complained of pain and was the only person in that vehicle. It is unclear whether or not this person was hospitalized.
