Rafael Torres Killed, two Injured after Two-Car Collision in Palm Desert
Palm Desert, CA (July 12, 2020) – On Saturday evening, a collision at Gerald Ford Drive and Portola Avenue resulted in the death of Rafael Torres.
Moreover, the crash happened at around 10:00 p.m. on July 11.
Later reports stated that Mr. Torres drove a 1990 Jeep eastbound on Gerald Ford Drive, while a Palm Desert woman drove a 2019 Honda northbound on Portola Avenue.
For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Subsequently, emergency crews then responded, and found Mr. Torres of Coachella ejected from his vehicle.
They transported three people total to the hospitals, two suffered moderate injuries, and Torres remained in critical condition.
The following day, the sheriff’s department reported that 51-year-old Rafael Torres died at the hospital from the injuries he sustained.
No other information is known. Further investigation to determine the cause of the crash is actively ongoing.
