43-Year-Old Lake Elsinore Man Fatally Injured in Motorcycle Accident near Terra Cotta Road

 
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (July 1, 2018) – A man was killed Sunday evening after his motorcycle caught fire following a suspected solo-motorcycle crash on Lakeshore Drive near Terra Cotta Road.
 
Emergency first responders arrived at the scene of the deadly crash shortly after 11:30 PM. They found a motorcycle engulfed in flames in the No.2 lane of Lakeshore drive. Its rider, 43-year-old Rafael Lopez, of Lake Elsinore, was found unresponsive and unconscious in the roadway nearby.
 
Bystanders were attempting to administer CPR to the injured motorcyclist until the paramedics arrived and assumed life-saving efforts. Lopez was later rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by the medical staff.
 
Events leading to the fiery accident were being investigated by Lake Elsinore Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Team.
