Qinglei Li Killed in Tragic Traffic Crash near County Road 417 and Navasota [Grimes County, TX]

1 Person Dead in Grimes County Auto Accident near County Road 417 and Navasota

GRIMES COUNTY, TX (April 2, 2024) – Monday morning, Qinglei Li died in a tragic traffic crash on County Road 417 and Navasota.

The incident happened at around 9:00 a.m. near County Road 417, east of Navasota.

According to reports, a westbound 2016 Nissan Rouge veered across the center line and started traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes. Then, the Nissan collided head-on with an eastbound 2001 Kenworth 18-wheeler before colliding with a westbound 2004 Hyundai Palisade.

Moreover, Grimes County Justice of the Peace Mark Laughlin pronounced the driver of the Nissan, identified as 53-year-old Li, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the Kenworth and the driver of the Hyundai, to CHI St. Joseph Hospital with suspected minor injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
