Burbank, CA (October 14, 2023) On Friday afternoon, a police officer was hurt after a pursuit crash on Cohasset Street.

According to Burbank police, the vehicle crash happened around 5:30 p.m. near Cohasset Street and Hollywood Way.

Reports say that police are chasing a suspect driver on a stolen pick up that is making his way towards 5 Freeway before getting on surface streets.

Officials say that the escaping driver collided with a police officer and struck a fire hydrant, causing water gushing down the road.

Police were able to apprehend the suspect driver, meanwhile, the officer sustained undisclosed injuries and was seen standing on his own and appears to be conscious.

Authorities are investigating the vehicle crash.
