KERRVILLE, TX (October 18, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, a horrific police pursuit crash on 1800 Sidney Baker Street North killed 1 person.

The authorities received a report at around 1:48 p.m. about an attempted carjacking in a business parking lot in the 1200 block of Junction Highway.

Then, two minutes later, a man reportedly stole their 2022 Honda sedan from the same parking lot.

Thus, several KPD officers came to the scene and found the stolen vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Sidney Baker Street North.

As the authorities tried to pull over the vehicle, the driver didn’t yield. Then, the Honda crashed with a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck in the 1800 block of Sidney Baker Street North.

As a result, the driver of the stolen vehicle died at the scene. Meanwhile, the 64-year-old male pickup driver was transported to a Kerrville hospital and was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital. However, the man’s condition remained undisclosed at this time.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
