DALLAS, TX (September 10, 2023) – Monday morning, Promise McCree suffered injuries in a startling pedestrian crash on Interstate 30 near Akard Street.

The incident happened at about 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 30 near Akard Street. According to reports, the victim crashed into a highway guardrail. Then, she got out of her car and another driver failed to see her and hit her.

“The pelvic area was fragmented, basically,” the victim’s mother said. “She broke her arm, her leg.”

After the crash, the driver remained at the scene and helped the victim. As the driver aided the victim, a black SUV drove past and ran over the lower half of Promise’s body. Then, the driver did not stop to help.

“For them to just leave my child, like she was nothing. She meant something to somebody. That’s somebody’s child,” the victim’s mother said.

The victim was listed in the ICU for a week and had undergone two surgeries. Her family added she’ll likely have eight to ten more.

Meanwhile, the sheriff’s office confirmed that the first driver who hit the victim and stayed on scene to help will not face any charges.

Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information to contact the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
