22-Year-Old Pregnant Woman Ejected after Two-Vehicle Crash at Beale Avenue and Monterey Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 8, 2019) – A pregnant woman suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Beale Avenue, Thursday afternoon.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident happened shortly after 1:30 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a silver sedan crashed into a blue minivan near Monterey Street.
The impact of the collision ejected a 22-year-old pregnant woman from one of the vehicles. Emergency responders rushed her to a hospital, where she had to deliver her baby following the crash and keep the newborn in the NICU. Doctors also had to have her leg amputated from the knee down as a result of her injuries.
