Two Hospitalized after Suspected DUI Accident near San Bernardino Avenue

FONTANA, CA (August 29, 2018) – A pregnant woman was hospitalized Wednesday evening following a DUI crash on Catawba Avenue.

According to Fontana Police officials, the incident took place shortly after 7:00 PM. A northbound car stopped at a stop sign at San Bernardino Avenue then proceeded through; however, an eastbound vehicle did not stop at the intersection and T-boned the northbound driver.

The pregnant woman driving the northbound car was rushed to a trauma center by responding paramedics. She was forced to deliver her child prematurely, and the newborn is currently in critical condition. Meanwhile, the other driver was also hospitalized with minor injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The identities of the parties involved were not immediately released. Additional information was not disclosed to the public, as an investigation is ongoing at this time.
