1 Injured in Grapevine Car Accident
GRAPEVINE, CA (January 23, 2019) – A pregnant woman was hospitalized following a rollover car crash on January 22 in Grapevine.
California Highway Patrol Officer Josh Greenguard revealed that the incident occurred after 9:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway, near the Smokey Bear Road on-ramp.
“This was a solo vehicle collision into the center median guardrail. At first, emergency personnel were going to transport her by air, but later decided to transport her by ground (ambulance),” Greenguard said.
The paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a report at 9:16 a.m., Fire Department spokesman Scott Elliott stated. They arrived at the area just before 9:30 a.m.
Reports revealed that the vehicle rolled over after it struck the guard rail. The firefighters did not find anyone trapped.
Greenguard revealed that the pregnant woman had “damaged approximately 50 feet of guardrail.”
The 5 Freeway lanes remained open during the incident.
