Power Lines Knocked Down in El Cajon Car Crash
EL CAJON, CA (January 29, 2020) – A car crash caused a power outage on Vernan Way on January 23 in El Cajon.
According to police, a semi-truck sheared a fire hydrant and struck power lines and caused a power outage to more than 500 customers.
Authorities received a report of the crash before 6:00 a.m. in the 1100 block of Vernan Way, El Cajon police Lt. Keith MacArthur revealed.
MacArthur added that the driver made a turn too tight then sheared a fire hydrant and crashed into a power pole, knocking power lines down in the roadway.
No one sustained any injury.
