Injuries Sustained in Sacramento Multiple Car Accidents on 80 Freeway
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 24, 2019) – Possible injuries were sustained in multiple collisions on 80 Freeway on Thursday, February 21.
According to the CHP initial activity log, the first collision involved a big rig and a truck with major front-end damage to the truck.
The accidents involving at about 10 vehicles blocked all lanes of traffic at the Bryte Bend Bridge shortly after 8 a.m.
All lanes of westbound 80 Freeway at West El Camino Avenue were also shut down for less than an hour.
At least three tow trucks responded to the area as of 8:45 a.m. and all lanes reopened just before 9 a.m., CHP stated.
It was not immediately known whether the collisions resulted in injuries or whether ambulances were called to the scene.
Driving can be very dangerous as anything can happen very quickly. Thus, it is important to drive safely and defensively. Make sure your mirrors are adjusted properly, use your turn signals and check your blind spot every time you change lanes or decide to pass a slower vehicle. Remember to watch for cars merging onto the freeway and give them adequate space to merge into the slow lane.
