Motorcycle Rider Dies in Portland Avenue Traffic Accident
Tacoma, WA (August 15, 2022) – On Sunday afternoon, a traffic collision on Portland Avenue claimed the life of a 31-year-old motorcycle rider.
The Tacoma Police Department (TPD) says that the fatal accident happened at around 5:46 p.m.
Reports say that a northbound car on Portland Avenue turned left from the center lane in the path of a southbound motorcycle. The motorcycle crashed into the car.
Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital, unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.
Authorities closed Portland Avenue between East 43rd Street and East 44th Street during the investigation.
Meanwhile, the TPD Collision Investigation Team is still investigating the incident and has not released additional details regarding the crash.
