Porfirio Sanchez Involved in Fatal Bicycle Accident on Silverado Trail [Napa County, CA]

Napa County, CA (October 18, 2023) On Tuesday morning, 55-year-old Porfirio Sanchez of Vallejo, was involved in a fatal accident on Silverado Trail that killed 2 cyclists.

According to the CHP, the tragic traffic accident happened at about 11 a.m. along Silverado Trail in Napa County.

Reports say that Sanchez was driving a northbound 3-axle 2018 Freightliner flatbed truck on Silverado Trail north of Oak Knoll Avenue, when a lumber on the flatbed truck apparently shifted and struck 2 bicycle riders.

Officials say that one of the bicyclists, a man in his 50s died at the scene, while the other cyclist, a woman in her 40s was rushed to Queen of the Valley Medical Center and succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Porfirio Sanchez stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

CHP is investigating the tragic accident and have not released further details at this time.
