1 Hurt in Seattle Crash
SEATTLE, WA (August 30, 2019) – A police pursuit ended with a fiery crash on 92nd Street on August 28.
The pursuit began at about 9:00 a.m. when a motorcycle trooper tried to pull over a Camry driver for an HOV violation in the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway.
Trooper Rick Johnson said that the suspect didn’t stop and fled at a high speed. The troopers then continued the chase while the suspect drove off the freeway and back on two or three times.
When the suspect exited 5 Freeway for the last time, he drove to 92nd Street. Troopers terminated the pursuit. However, the suspect continued and collided with a white van near 92nd Street and Meridian Avenue. The Camry then caught fire while the suspect jumped out and fled on foot.
The white van suffered injuries and went and to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the authorities are still looking for the suspect. Troopers also brought a K-9 dog to track him down.
