Firebaugh Police Officer Rodolfo Tabares Struck by DUI Driver
FIREBAUGH, CA (September 15, 2019) – Police Officer Rodolfo Tabares sustained injuries in a DUI crash on Highway 33 on Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near North Douglas Avenue at approximately 8:30 PM. Based on a report, Tabares thrown off his police motorcycle after he was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Jose Gutierrez, 27, of Mendota. The vehicle drove at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident.
Tabares sustained a lot of road rash and scrapes but was expected to survive.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of DUI. However, the crash is under investigation.
