Police Officer Seriously Hurt in DUI Car Crash on Interstate 80
Sacramento, CA (June 18, 2020) – On Wednesday night, a police officer sustained severe injuries in a DUI car crash on Interstate 80 eastbound.
The accident happened at 9:30 p.m. on June 17. Dispatched officers responded and located a car and a motorcycle on the scene.
Reportedly, a Chevrolet S-10 Xtreme crashed into a CHP patrol motorcycle on eastbound I-80 at the Watt Avenue overcrossing.
The officer then immediately transported to a nearby hospital for his severe injuries. He is now in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the driver, a 36-year-old Ulises Emmanuel Rodriguez, remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials. Moreover, police confirmed alcohol as a factor in the crash.
At this time, Rodriguez is facing charges for DUI.
