Police Officer Hospitalized after Car Crash on Loop 101 and Glendale Avenue
Peoria, AZ (June 12, 2020) – Friday night, a Peoria police officer sustained injuries attempting to arrest a shoplifting suspect, she then arrested after a car crash on Loop 101 and Glendale Avenue. Suspect identified as Erin Taylor, a 31-year-old from Glendale.
Reportedly, the shoplifting incident happened at around 7:45 p.m. on June 12 in Peoria. A police officer then responded and found Taylor at the parking lot. While trying to command Taylor to surrender, she then gets in her car and put it on the reverse, accelerate, and hit the officer on his leg. Then fled, driving at 85 miles per hour in a forty mile per hour zone.
Moreover, police continue to chase Taylor until she eventually lost control of her car at the Loop 101 and Glendale Avenue and hit the median. She got out of her car and ran on foot before being caught and getting arrested. She then treated for minor injuries.
At this time, Taylor is facing charges aggravated assault on a police officer, drug possession, unlawful flight from law enforcement, DUI, firearms and theft charges.
Meanwhile, the police officer suffered a broken leg and taken to a hospital for immediate treatment.
