1 Hurt in Pala Motorcycle Accident

 
PALA, CA (May 16, 2019) – An Oceanside police officer sustained injuries in a motorcycle and car collision on Highway 76 on May 15.
 
The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. on Highway 76 west of Lilac Road in Pala, CHP Officer Roberts said.
 
Roberts revealed that a speeding westbound car on the highway veered and hit the officer.
 
According to Bussey, the motorcycle officer noticed the vehicle steering toward him. He then tried to drive off the road to avoid a collision. As he swerved to the highway’s dirt shoulder, the car still hit him.
 
“The motorcycle did several 360s with him off it,” Bussey stated. “He was not seriously injured; he had only a complaint of a sore wrist.”
 
A sergeant with the Oceanside Police Department transported him to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
 
“And the bike is probably totaled,” Bussey added.
 
Meanwhile, the other female driver sustained injuries. However, alcohol and drugs are ruled out as a factor in the collision.
