Police Officer Hospitalized after Euclid Avenue Head-on Crash
Santa Ana, CA – On Thursday night, a Santa Ana police officer sustained injuries in a head-on crash northbound on Euclid Avenue.
The incident occurred at about 10:25 p.m. on August 6.
Santa Ana Police say an attempt to stop Simon Bradley Sulusi of Long Beach in the 300 block of North Harbor Boulevard lead to a pursuit when the suspect refused to yield.
Police then continued the chase east on McFadden Avenue, when Sulusi ran a red light and slammed into a car northbound on Euclid Avenue.
Shortly after, his vehicle hit a pursuing officer’s patrol car, which had been westbound on McFadden approaching Euclid.
As a result, the police officer was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a hospital.
At this time, Sulusi is facing charges on suspicion of felony evading, felony DUI and felon in possession of a gun and remains in custody at a local hospital.
