Injuries Reported in Visalia Auto Accident on Mooney Boulevard and Highway 198
VISALIA, CA (November 24, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, a police officer suffered injuries in a crash on Mooney Boulevard and Highway 198.
The incident happened after a Visalia police officer crashed into a robbery suspect’s vehicle.
Reports said that the officer first tried to stop a silver Audi on Mooney Boulevard. They tried to pull over due to alleged involvement in a robbery outside Chase Bank.
Then, the driver fled on Westbound Highway 198 and struck the officer.
As a result, the officer suffered minor to moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, investigators believe the car was stolen because the license plate came back as a Toyota pickup.
Furthermore, the crash led to the closure of the westbound lanes of Highway 198 during the investigation.
