Officer Hurt in Riverside Car Accident
RIVERSIDE, CA (May 10, 2019) – A UC Riverside police officer sustained injuries in a car collision on Watkins Drove on May 7.
According to Riverside Fire Department, the incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. Dispatchers arrived on Watkins Drive near Blaine Street shortly after. Meanwhile, reports stated that the crash occurred off campus between two vehicles.
Medics transported the officer to a nearby hospital. However, the other person declined treatment.
Furthermore, the surrounding roadway was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clean the scene. The circumstances of the collision still remain unavailable.
The Riverside Police Department is also currently investigating the collision.
