Car Hits Police Patrol Vehicle on King Road in San Jose, Officer Injured
SAN JOSE, CA (August 18, 2019) – A San Jose Police Department officer was hospitalized after his patrol car was hit by another vehicle Sunday morning, according to the police department.
Around 8:40 a.m., the officer was stopped at a red light at the intersection of King and McKee roads waiting for the green light, when he was struck by a Toyota Corolla.
As a result, the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took him to a hospital for proper treatment.
The unidentified Toyota driver was also hospitalized and was detained.
Authorities temporarily closed the intersection while they investigated the incident.
